Create a pro forma chart
Enter Draft Mode on a chart
- In the left-hand navigation, under Atlas, navigate to the Entities page
- Select the entity for which you'd like to create a Pro Forma Chart
- In the upper right corner, select View Structure Chart
- Within the chart, click the ⋮ button and select Enter Draft Mode
Draft changes to a chart
Charts changes be drafted manually, using our AI Chart Generation tool, or by using a combination of both.
AI Chart Generation
- Click the blue sparkle icon in the bottom right corner of the page
- Describe the changes in natural language that you'd like to make to the entity structure and click the arrow
- Review and modify AI generated changes as needed
Manual changes
Add and manage entities
- Click the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner of the page
- Click anywhere in the chart to add a new entity
- Enter the entity's title/name
- Click the pencil icon to fill in key attributes about the entity and click Apply
- Draw a line between the newly created entity and the one to which you'd like to create a relationship
- Click the line and select the pencil icon to edit the relationship details and click Apply
- Repeat these steps to add additional entities or edit existing entities
Add Chart Comments
Chart Comments give insight into an entire structure or parts of a structure and are can displayed/hidden in the Saved draft chart and during chart export.
- Click the comment box in the top-right corner
- Drop the comment box anywhere on the chart (move around by dragging)
- Input your text
- Click Apply
Save a Draft version of a chart
- Once all changes have been made, click Save in the top right corner
- Enter a name for the draft chart and Save once more
Once a Draft has been saved, it will be accessible on the Charts tab to continue editing, share within your organization, and publish to save updated entities and relationships.

The video above walks through an example of how to design a new structure while working in Draft mode. Below are the exact steps demonstrated in the video.
- While in Draft mode, begin designing a new structure. For this example, the video shows creating two new entities for Atlas Capital Holdings III, LLC.
- Click the plus (+) icon in the upper-right corner to add a new entity.
- In the entity box, enter the name Ontra Investment Fund I.
- Hover over the entity box and click the Edit icon.
- Enter the following details:
- Purpose: Fund
- Tax Treatment: Partnership
- Draw a line downward from Ontra Investment Fund I to Atlas Capital Holdings III, LLC.
- Click the connecting line, set the Relationship to Limited Partner, and click Apply.
- Click the plus (+) icon again to add another entity.
- Enter the name Ontra Holdings II, LLC.
- Hover over the entity box and click the Edit icon.
- Enter the following details:
- Purpose: Holding Company
- Tax Treatment: Corporation
- Draw a line upward from Ontra Holdings II, LLC to Ontra Investment Fund I.
- Click the connecting line, set the Relationship to General Partner, set Common Ownership to 100%, and click Apply.
- Once all updates are complete, click Save.
- Enter the name of the chart Atlas Capital Fund III.
