Ontra's Salesforce integration uses the Ontra API to maintain synchronized data between the two systems.
Before you get started
- The Salesforce and Ontra integration is available for Insight for Funds and Atlas.
- Admins must provide their specific Salesforce Record IDs to the Ontra team to be able to set up the integration. The Ontra team maps Salesforce Record IDs to Ontra IDs to ensure data points sync accurately between the two systems.
Provide Salesforce Record IDs to Ontra
- In Salesforce, export a CSV report that includes all key fields and the 15-character Record IDs for LPs and funds, including:
- Common Investor Name
- LP investment vehicle/LP Legal entity name
- LP investment vehicle Unique ID
- Fund Name
- Fund Record ID
Set up the integration
Once the Salesforce Record and Ontra IDs have been mapped, admins must set up the integration in Ontra.
- In the left-hand navigation, under Admin, open the Integrations page
- Locate the Salesforce tile and click Connect
- Click Connect again in the pop-up window
- Log in to your Salesforce account and authorize the connection
- On the Configuration tab, use the toggles to select which Salesforce objects should be mapped to corresponding Ontra data fields
- If you are using Ontra's Sandbox, you will have the option to test the data mapping against either your production or a sandbox Salesforce instance
- As data is updated in Salesforce, the information will synced to Ontra in real-time
| The Salesforce integration cannot create net-new records in Ontra. |
