To access the CTA Filing section
- On the Entities page, click into the entity you’d like to view
- At the bottom of the left sidebar, click into CTA Filing tab
- On this page, you can view all information related to the filing
On this page, you can view the Filing Status card. The Filing Status card is located in the top right of the page, and it indicates the current status of the CTA Filing. Potential Filing Statuses include:
- Missing Required Data: The “Submit Filing” button will be grayed out in this status, as there is missing required information.
- Ready for Submission: The “Submit Filing” button will now be blue and available to click, as all required information is entered
- Submission Pending: In this status, there are some background checks running.
- Submission Accepted: After background checks are complete (which typically takes a few minutes), the status should update to this status
In order to submit the CTA filing, all required data must be entered. Required data includes:
- At least one Beneficial Owner
- Filing Details > State of Formation / First Registration
- Entity Key Info > Formation Date
- Company Applicants > Name & Title + FinCEN ID
- Note: Reporting companies that were created or registered before January 1, 2024 are not required to report any company applicants.
Once all required data is entered, you will be able to submit the CTA filing. To do so, you can
- Click the blue Submit Filing button in the top right corner of the Filing Status card
- A Confirm Submission pop up box will appear, where you will certify that you are authorized to submit the filing by checking the checkbox
- Note: Your name and email will be associated with the submission
- Once the checkbox is selected, you can click the blue Submit Filing button to complete the submission
- Once a submission is accepted, a PDF of the transcript will be created under the Documents tab
Note: At this time, you can only submit an initial CTA filing. Additional filing types coming soon!
