As of April 2026, user permissions in Insight have been updated to the Unified Permissions model for the vast majority of customers. Learn more about Unified permissions in Insight.

Admin
Admin users have the most expansive application permissions. Admin users can see all funds and obligations, and can add other admins, members, or assignees and select which obligations and tasks members and assignees have access to. Since Admins have access to all funds, they also have access to all obligations and corresponding tasks, subtasks, documents, and activity logs.
Member Role
Member users can view funds and obligations that they are assigned to within Insight. It follows that they can only see tasks, subtasks, documents, and activity logs related to those funds that they have access to. Members can edit their account-related Coming Due Digest settings but no other account information (role and fund access). Lastly, members can create assignee accounts.
Assignee Role
Assignees can only be assigned to tasks and subtasks related to the funds that they had already been granted access to. They can mark those tasks as complete, add to task activity logs, and upload supporting documents to tasks.
Read-Only Role
Read-only users can view and download documents, obligations, and tasks in excel files. They cannot edit or create any obligations, tasks, documents, or funds. They cannot be assigned obligations, tasks, or subtasks.
